Chicago Wine School is an independent educational organization providing information about wines and spirits (sorry, we don't sell wine, but we can tell you where to find the wines we taste).

The core of CWS courses are the five-week courses, one evening per week, of which there are 3 levels:

1. The Basics
2. Intermediate ("The Varietals" and "The Countries")
3. Advanced ("The Regions")

In addition, we offer numerous seminars that are one evening only ("1-Night Seminars").

Aside from trying to communicate knowledge about mankind's most interesting beverages, we try to put students at ease about the subject. We know that wine can be an intimidating topic to many and that there is much misunderstood ritual involved as well. With that in mind we offer students solid information in a manner that neither intimidates nor confuses.

Our regularly scheduled courses and seminars are open to anyone with an interest in wine, from the simply curious to the seriously devoted as well as to those in the trade. As long as you're at least 21 years of age...

The staff at Chicago Wine School is available for lectures, business seminars, tastings, etc. to groups or individuals. Please call or email CWS for ideas, prices and schedules.

Gift Purchases and Gift Certificates Available

You can purchase gifts on-line for any individual single session seminar or 5-week course for the current semester (see 5-week courses and 1 Night Seminars at the top of this page).If you would prefer to purchase one for a future seminar or course you can either wait until that semester is on line or purchase a Gift Certificate for a given course or seminar for presentation to the giftee who can then apply it at the time he or she wishes. Or, you can purchase a Gift Certificate in a simple "Valued At" designation (seminars range from $55 to $75 while courses range from $170 to $325 per person). See the "Buy Stuff" page.
